A decrease in the activity of Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups has been recorded in the Sumy direction in recent days. This was reported by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Colonel Andriy Demchenko, during a television appearance, Radio Liberty quotes him.
Over the last period, a decrease in the activity of shelling in the territory of Sumy region has been noticed compared to the previous period, especially in comparison with the spring. The number of attempts by Russian subversive reconnaissance groups to enter Ukrainian territory and incidents with them has also decreased.
Previously, there were frequent attempts to infiltrate subversive reconnaissance groups, their disclosure and clashes with them, but no such incidents have occurred recently, as Demchenko emphasized.
According to the spokesman, the situation in the Sumy area is fully controlled, and no danger of the advance of Russian forces has been detected.
However, Russia continues to shell the territory of Ukraine, including Sumy region, using a variety of weapons, Demchenko added.
