Protests in Tbilisi: Interior Ministry special forces disperse rally against draft law on “foreign agents”

This morning, the Interior Ministry's special forces began a violent dispersal of a protest in Tbilisi against the adoption of the law on “foreign agents.” The incident occurred near the parliament building, where law enforcement officers got off the buses and began dispersing the protesters. This was reported by Front News Georgia.

Before the dispersal, the Interior Ministry gave the protesters five minutes to disperse. On the spot, they tried to force some of the protesters out of the side streets, while another group remained in front of the parliament and chanted the slogan “Long live Georgia.”

The Prime Minister called on the Ministry of Internal Affairs to act in accordance with European and American standards.

Later, cars with MPs drove into the territory of the parliament.

Earlier, we reported that the protesters of the law on “foreign agents” are planning to spend the night of May 12-13 in front of the Georgian parliament building. This information was provided by writer Lasha Bugadze at a rally on the Maidan de Europa.
