At the Chernivtsi railway station, employees of the TCC are “hunting” for people. This was stated by Mayor Roman Klichuk during a press conference.

“According to my information, the thoughtless mobilization is taking place exclusively in Chernivtsi, at the railway station. It looks almost like a hunt for people, for guests of the city. Now everyone is afraid to go to Chernivtsi. At this rate, no transport will soon come to Chernivtsi - neither buses nor trains,” the mayor said.

He claims that due to such actions of the TCC, many people began to leave the station earlier and go to the city by other means of transport. Or go with the train to the depot.

In addition, the mayor said that because of the mobilization, the city is approaching collapse in the utility sector.

“If the mobilization policy had been more thoughtful and we had been consulted, it would not have jeopardized the operation of the city's critical infrastructure and work on international projects. Over the past week, we have received 52 summonses to deliver and send to the frontline for the Vodokanal, 25 summonses for the Trolleybus Department, and 70 summonses for the Kalynivka Market. This is critical, given the fact that there are already not enough people at the utilities,” Klichuk said.

He called on the military administration and military commissariats to discuss the mobilization process with the city authorities.

“Of course, we support this and understand (mobilization), that we have to do everything for the defense of the country, but there are vital things without which the city will not work. If transport stops tomorrow, there is no water and sewage, the city will collapse,” the mayor said.
