Czech Foreign Minister: We do not support Ukrainian mobilization evaders, but we help refugees

The Czech Republic continues to support Ukrainian refugees who fled the war. However, Prague will not support those who try to avoid military service. This was reported by Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky in Novinky.

Lipavsky noted that the Czech Republic understands the problem of Ukrainian men of military age leaving the country, but the country will not support those who try to avoid legal military service.

He also emphasized that the Czech Republic will continue to provide asylum to Ukrainian refugees seeking protection from the war and will accept them on its territory.

The Czech Republic admits that it has no legal grounds to deport Ukrainian men who refuse military conscription. However, as an alternative, the Czech Republic offers Ukraine to send summonses regarding the draft.

In case of failure to comply with these summonses abroad, Ukraine may bring such citizens to criminal liability and demand their extradition from abroad for committing a crime.
