According to a source in the special services, the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Timur Ivanov, was detained on suspicion of corruption with the help of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

In March 2024, the GUR's active operations unit organized a cyberattack that gained access to confidential information and official documents of Ivanov. This led to an investigation and suspicion of corruption schemes against the Russian official.

Although Ivanov himself was seen as a potential corruptor, this incident became decisive in the leak of sensitive and confidential information that led to the investigation of his activities.

The source emphasized that there was no voluntary cooperation between Ivanov and Ukrainian intelligence.
