Israel has rejected Hamas' proposal for a ceasefire to ensure the return of hostages, as a complete IDF victory in the Gaza Strip is "very close." This was stated by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Reuters reports.

Netanyahu vowed to destroy the movement, saying that Israel has no alternative but to destroy Hamas.

He also added that the destruction of Hamas is the "only solution" to the war in Gaza.

Earlier, Hamas proposed a four-and-a-half month ceasefire in Gaza, during which all hostages would be released, Israel would withdraw its troops from Gaza, and an agreement would be reached to end the war.
